Drug Bust on I-10 in Jackson County
A Texas man is behind bars in Jackson County after a traffic stop on I-10 discovered nearly eight pounds on cocaine in his truck.
Luis Maldonado was arrested Tuesday morning at the 70 mile marker on I-10 after a Jackson County deputy was unable to read his truck tag. A drug K9 alerted officers to the location of the drugs.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says officers found three squares wrapped in black plastic with tape, consistent with trafficking illegal narcotics.
Maldonado is charged with aggravated trafficking a controlled substance. He is being held on a $30,000 bond.
