Democratic Lieutenant Governor Candidate Visits the Coast

Incumbent Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves will see an opponent in the general election on November 3rd. Today, Democratic candidate Tim Johnson was on the Coast.
Johnson spent years as an alderman in the city of Madison, supervisor in Madison County and was a state Senator for eight years. Now he’s gunning for the lieutenant governor’s office.
Johnson pledges to expand Medicaid, provide safe roads and bridges and to fully fund education. Johnson tells News 25 it’s time for a change and he believes his experience and loyalty to the state make him the man for the job. “Look, I love this state. Man, I just love the people of this state and I think we have untapped potential. We just need leadership that’s going to kind of bring that to the top as we make our state the best that it can be.”
Johnson plans on sending a letter to incumbent Tate Reeves inviting him to a series of debates, one in each congressional district.
