COVID safeguards extended in Mississippi courts

Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Randolph today extended the order for COVID-19 safeguards in all courts for another month and gave judges discretion to postpone jury trials scheduled through February 25th.

Since March 2020, the Supreme Court has issued a series of orders to address changing circumstances and evolving guidance provided by health authorities.

The emergency administrative order says judges who preside over drug intervention courts also are authorized to modify drug testing and home supervision of participants through February 25th.
