Construction concerns continue in east Biloxi

East Biloxi residents reach a new level of concern after construction effects nature in the area.
Recent Facebook posts show people saddened about the loss of a well-known tree near Nichols Elementary. The multi-million dollar infrastructure project tackles 55 miles of roads in east Biloxi.
School administrators, parents, and students tell News 25 the work interferes with the learning process. Amanda Sullivan is the mother of a Nichols Elementary student. She said, “Sometimes he doesn’t want to go to school because of the dust and all the dirt and it’s hard to get into school and he just sometimes doesn’t want to go. So yes, it’s been going on for a long time.”
According to city council members, the company working the massive infrastructure project has failed to report any recent updates.
