City of Pascagoula submits entry into ‘Hometown Takeover’

The City of Pascagoula has recently entered into a contest with HGTV for a ‘Hometown Takeover.’

‘Hometown Takeover’ is a six episode event slated to air in 2021 that will rescue, enhance, and flip a town upside down.

The video the city submitted highlights the history of Pascagoula as well as major events like Cruisin’ the Coast and Free Flowin’ on the River.

But it also shows what Pascagoula lacks partly due to setbacks like Katrina and the BP oil spill. They say Pascagoula has all the pieces to the puzzle, they just need some help putting it together.  Pascagoula Main Street Director Rebecca Davis said, “The first time I saw the video I cried. When you love what you do and you love the people, it just pulled at my heart strings. I couldn’t help it. I see big things for Pascagoula and wouldn’t we be blessed to really win.”

Now it’s all a waiting game, but they are hopeful because they feel like the video portrays Pascagoula in the best way possible.
