City of Pascagoula Corrects Utility Bill Errors

Pascagoula residents who were overcharged on their utility bills will soon see a credit to their account.
The City Council adopted an order to correct billing errors and establish a new demand fee structure. Residents saw an increase in their bill beginning in February. However, once the first few cycles ran, staff realized some customers were billed twice. In addition, they found the new fee structure would result in an overage in revenue needed to sustain the system.
Affected customers will be sent a letter with specific instructions and clarification.
The new demand fee will be a flat rate for residential and commercial customers regardless of meter size.
