Celebrating the Fourth of July on the Coast
By Thursday the entire 26 miles of sand beaches in Harrison County will be reopened just in time for the Fourth of July.
Fireworks are only legal two days out of the year on Harrison County’s sand beaches. Those days are New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July. The only area where fireworks are prohibited is from the Small Craft Harbor in Biloxi to Oak Street in Biloxi.
Jeff Clark with Harrison County Public Affairs also encourages people to be mindful of their litter. “With shooting fireworks we’re just asking everyone to pick up their mess. If you want to shoot fireworks, it is legal to do so just please clean up behind you.”
Those that visit Harrison County’s coastline during the Fourth are encouraged to follow the social distancing guidelines suggested by the CDC and the executive orders from Governor Reeves.
