CASA Adds More Volunteers
A new group of advocates are suited up and ready to fight for the rights of children. CASA currently has 59 volunteers after adding tonight’s 13 inductees to the mix. CASA now has the largest amount of volunteers the program has ever seen.
CASA serves a third of the 407 children in foster care in Hancock County. Now, 20 to 25 more children will be able to receive child advocates. Hancock County Youth Court Judge Elise Deano presented advocates with official documentation and offered words of encouragement during tonight’s ceremony.
The learning doesn’t stop after tonight’s ceremony. Once volunteers complete training, there is a requirement to complete 12 additional hours of service credit.
