Caillavet St. Soon to be Paved

Drivers in downtown Biloxi will soon have a smoother ride. The city has announced they will be paving the section of Caillavet Street south of Howard Avenue in the next few weeks.

Major city infrastructure projects have destroyed the street into a dirt roadway. City officials are excited to announce the initial asphalt will be laid down early next month.

Vincent Creel, Public Affairs Manager for Biloxi, says, “The good news on Caillavet Street is finally the dust bowl is going to go away. We are going to have paving done on Caillavet Street and that is going to be in the first part of October, weather permitting. All of the area will have its initial layer of asphalt by mid-October.”

The final layers of paving will go down after construction of the baseball stadium is completed in 2015.
