Brooklyn Pizzeria and HSSM teaming up to find fur-ever homes for shelter residents
Man’s best friend and pizza, what more can you ask for?
Brooklyn Pizzeria and the Humane Society of South Mississippi are teaming up to find fur-ever homes for some of their longest-term residents.
You can’t miss the adorable face staring back at you on every Brooklyn’s Pizzeria box. Owners Mark and Darlene Cruthirds are partnering up with Humane Society of South Mississippi to bring attention to adoption by posting flyers of dogs available for adoption on the box and rolled inside to go bags.
After a family friend shared a story about a pizzeria in New York doing something similar, the Cruthirds decided to take a turn at the pawsitively great idea and the pups and community agree. “We’re just trying to get the word out. These pets have all been at the humane society the longest. They have one that’s been there for over 300 days. ”
That’s Goodfellow and these are his friends Lilith, Seymour, and Brutus. The Cruthirds have been in business for almost 30 years and this is a way for them to give back to the community, but rescue dogs also have a special place in their lives. “Our youngest daughter and our oldest daughter adopted pets and my wife’s parents adopted pets. We had a German shepherd we got about seven years ago and we recently just lost her. We’re just trying to help these dogs get to a good home. There’s someone out there that will take one of these pets and i would love to see one adopted this week.”
If you adopt one of these dogs, you’ll get $25 worth of food from Brooklyn Pizzeria. Katie King of HSSM says she is grateful for others who also care about the lives of animals living in shelters. “We were so excited when Brooklyn reached out to us about this article they were sent. They were so excited to partner with us and showcase some of our longest residents.”
Currently, all large dogs at the shelter are available to adopt for $7, but a pizza this love is priceless.
