Biloxi Shuckers Say ‘Thank You’ to Construction Crew

Tuesday, members of the newly announced Biloxi Shuckers showed their appreciation to those working on their home stadium.

Members of the Shuckers organization brought Thanksgiving lunch to the construction crew working on M.G.M. Park. The team’s front office provided turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, the whole Thanksgiving package to all the workers of W.G. Yates & Sons Construction.

Buck Rogers, General Manager of the Biloxi Shuckers, says, "Every day, we drive by the construction site here. Every day, you see something new on it and these guys never get thanked. Here it is the week of Thanksgiving. We thought, you know, we better slow down for a minute. There’s a lot of good guys doing a lot of good things behind the scenes here. The public drives by, we get a lot of feedback from that, but nobody’s thanking these guys. So in some small part, we just wanted to say thank you. We wanted to take a quick hour for lunch the week of Thanksgiving, say a quick prayer, and let these guys have a decent meal."

M.G.M. Park is set to be completed in August of 2015.
