Biloxi Paving Update

Biloxi continues to pave the way to smoother roads on Division Street as 450 tons of temporary asphalt is spread throught the area.
Traffic was pushed to one lane of Division Street near Caillavet so the asphalt, which was laid on Friday, could completely dry. Crews will continue to lay the temporary pavement on Main, north of Division, Porter Avenue, south of Division and from Division Street to Forest Avenue.
A local business manager in the area tells News 25 the road work is a bit of an inconvenience for their customers. General Manager of Quality Poultry and Seafood Andy Gunkel said, “Anything that limits access to your business is a problem. Customers are complaining that sometimes they have to go in the back door. It’s been a long, slow process and everybody here would like to see it resolved as quickly and timely as possible.”
Crews are expected to begin adding striping to Division Street later this week. City officials are hoping the pavement work will wrap up before Friday.
