Biloxi High School Walk-In

Biloxi High School also participated in today’s events, but are calling it a walk-in rather than a walkout.
Students started outside to release 17 balloons and read the names of each student lost in the shooting at the Parkland, Florida high school. Biloxi High students then headed inside for an assembly on the importance of staying alert and aware at all times.
There were also 17 chairs placed in the center of the court to recognize each life lost in last month’s school shooting. Biloxi High Junior Maisie Smith said, “It allowed us to honor the victims and then show our support from Mississippi and it kind of brings awareness of the problems that are going on.”
Biloxi High Senior Virginia Horn said, “Just to raise awareness for schools around the country. So, take what students say seriously. If you see something that’s happening that shouldn’t be happening, say something about it.”
There will also be a page in the yearbook dedicated to students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
