Biloxi Great American Cleanup

Earth Day was the perfect way to kick off Biloxi’s Great American Cleanup.

Biloxi invites volunteers to participate in a week long cleanup for areas throughout the city. Individuals are encouraged to pick up areas and neighborhoods at their own pace and schedule throughout the week to clean. The Bond-Grant House will provide trash bags and gloves.

This is an opportunity for volunteers to help with an area that’s overlooked by the community. City of Biloxi Downtown Services Manager Kay Miller said, “Groups, organizations, school groups, and church groups can take thirty minutes of their time out of their week and pick a particular area that means something to you. You drive by it every day, a school, a park, an interstate, a turnoff, anywhere you see cigarette butts, trash on the road. If you think somebody needs to clean that up, well let’s take the initiative this week and clean it up.”

If anyone wishes to be a part of the hard work, locals can go to the Bond-Grant House or the Biloxi Visitor’s Center to pick up cleaning supplies for the week.
