Bay St. Louis emergency City Council meeting

As Hurricane Harvey barrels toward the Texas and Louisiana coastlines, cities all along the Mississippi Coast are preparing for its impact as well.
Harvey is forecasted to make landfall late tonight or early Saturday as a category 4 storm. The threat of high winds and heavy rainfall has urged many mayors to declare a state of emergency and Mayor Mike Favre of Bay St. Louis did just that today at an emergency city council meeting. “The potential of high tides and a lot of rain coming for a few days. We got a low lying area out on the waterfront property and everything. We’re expecting a lot of flooding out that way. You know the county is expecting the same so if it comes we are prepared for it and our city workers, police, fire, and public works.”
Right now, Harvey does have the potential to be the strongest hurricane to hit the US since 2005.
