Bar Hosting Fundraiser for Veterans in Gulfport
Good Times Sports Bar in Gulfport is gearing up for a great time this weekend. It’s all to benefit local veterans.
The sports bar will be hosting a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project on Sunday. Starting at 1 p.m. there will be fried fish, chicken, a pool tournament, auctions and karaoke. The cost is $10 a ticket and every penny will go to help the vets.
Bartender Irene Burnley tells News 25 local vets come to their bar often. In fact, the owner of Good Times, James Brown, is also a veteran. “There are wounded warriors here that need help. They need medical things and yes, the V.A. does supply them but there’s always those little extra things that people need and this money that we will be raising will go towards that,” said Burnley.
Good Times Sports Bar will be accepting any donations at the event. They are located off Klein Road in Gulfport.
