B.R.A.I.N Helmet Program Visits Lyman Elementary School

Children at Lyman Elementary School in Gulfport usually go to school to develop their brains, but today they learned more about how to protect their brains.
First graders at Lyman Elementary School had a break from class work today to learn the importance of helmet safety. After a short presentation illustrating why their brain is important to them and how best to protect it while playing, each student was fitted for a free helmet provided by the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services.
To date, the program has given out over 85,000 helmets to students statewide.
