Authorities release new details in Harrison County deputy shooting
There are new details surrounding the Harrison County deputy shooting investigation.
Sheriff Troy Peterson says there was no evidence a second party was at the scene when authorities reported a Harrison County deputy was shot by a man July 28th. Last month, the deputy said there was a man that shot him. That investigation was done by Biloxi police who investigated the crime scene after a Harrison County deputy was shot in the chest in north Harrison County.
During a press conference today, authorities said the weapon involved was the deputy’s gun. Warren Strain with MBI said, “There are questions as the sheriff said. There are questions and MBI agents are trying to work through that information that has been available to us so it is still an open and active investigation.”
Authorities say the Biloxi Police Department have concluded their part of the investigation. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and MBI tell News 25 they will continue to follow leads to find more answers to the shooting.
