Astro Camp registration opens Friday
Stennis Space Center is calling all future astronauts and engineers for an out of this world summer camp experience.
Registration for Astro Camp at Infinity Science Center opens Friday. The theme for this year’s camp is “Next Generation to Mars: Full Steam Ahead!”
Future astronauts and engineers from grades two to ten will have an opportunity to experience and learn about NASA technology, the International Space Station, explorations for the future journey to Mars and more all through fun, hands-on activities. Astro Camp Project Lead Maria Lott said, “The camp is a hands-on activity where the children are actually involved in engineering processing designs. They also come up with learning some basic skills and reviewing those skills as an out of school network learning that we enhance and we improve on. During the summer we want to keep that learning curve moving as fast and as forward as we can so when they go back in August they’re ready for school.”
The program costs $140. It launches June 5th with weekly camps running through July 21st. For more information or to register visit https://www.nasa.gov/centers/stennis/education/students/astrocamp.html or contact the Stennis Education Office at 228-688-3485.
