Annual fishing rodeo and picnic held

In celebration of “Older Americans Month,” Saucier Senior Center and the Harrison County Senior Resource Agency held their annual fishing rodeo and picnic.

All of the fishing poles and bait were provided, so all the seniors had to do was show up and have a good time.

Participants were lined up all around the pond in hopes of getting lucky!

While fishing, seniors had the opportunity to enjoy a picnic-styled lunch and visit informational vendors.

“It just gives the seniors an opportunity to get out, have fun, catch fish…all the men love to fish and most of the women love to fish,” said Janet Meaut, the executive director of the senior resource agency. “So it’s just kind of gets all of them out and just to have a good time.”
