Active Shooter Exercise at the IP Casino

Active shooter situations can happen anywhere. Today, the Mississippi Coastal Trauma Care Region Conference prepared an exercise for practice.
EMS personnel, doctors, law enforcement officials, and firefighters all gathered at the IP Casino for the trauma care’s annual conference. Organizers of the exercise walked the participants through a realistic active shooter situation in a hospital.
Norm Miller led the exercise. He tells News 25 with the large hospital presence here on the Coast, it makes people think how they would react. “There’s a large density of population so that just means there’s a bigger opportunity. I hope nobody ever has to use the procedures I talk about but you have to prepare for it.”
Over 300 people attended the active shooter training exercise today at IP Casino.
