Overturned tractor-trailer delays traffic on I-10

Traffic eastbound on Interstate 10 between Menge Avenue and County Farm Road is delayed by a traffic accident.

MDOT advises that a tractor-trailer is on its side in the eastbound lanes between mile markers 26 and 27.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cal Robertson said there were no injuries, which he said was surprising for a rollover.

Robertson said MHP got the call about midnight about the incident. The truck was hauling produce.

The scene could take more than five hours to clear, causing delays in that area for the duration. MHP said the accident was cleared by 9:30 a.m.

Because of the wet road conditions, drivers are advised to proceed with caution and be prepared to stop.
