Gulfport Police Department along with volunteers cleaned up debris and trash around courthouse pier road Saturday morning.

Chief of Gulfport Police Department Adam Cooper says they go through an entire box of trash bags by they time volunteers finish cleaning up. With growing volunteers each clean up, including the whole department, dispatchers, officers, and court clerks coming together; they plan to do bi-monthly cleans starting in the morning depending on the weather.
The police department believes this is not only the best way to build community involvement, but also keeps attracting tourism on the gulf coast.

Gulfport Police Chief Adam Cooper says, “I mean everyone wants to see a beautiful beach when they come out here in the morning, I mean look down the coastline right now, its reflecting in the sunlight. It’s great, the last thing i want to see is a piece of garbage sticking up out of the sand. so I don’t want anyone to get hurt on garbage that’s left nearby and there’s plenty of receptacles out here which people use them a little more often.”
