Reading Gate Retest Shows 6% Increase in Passing Scores
91% of Mississippi third graders have now passed the “Reading Gate Assessment” and will be able to move on to the fourth grade.
Today, results were released from the first retest that was administered back in May, showing a 6% increase in passing scores. There are 3,415 students state wide that still have not passed. Those students will be given a second retest opportunity between June 29th and August 7th.
Students who do not pass the second retest will have to repeat the third grade.
