Ribbon cutting for TASMG Hangar in Gulfport

Phase one in a 40 million dollar project was celebrated today with a ribbon cutting on the 1108TH Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group’s new state of the art paint hangar.

This new hangar is LEED certified, meaning it is very energy sufficient. This building will even be using rain water to run through the plumbing and sinks.

This provides aviation maintenance support for more than 300 Army National Guard aircraft in the region.

Aircraft will undergo repainting and maintaining corrosion control all while extending the life of these aircraft at this new facility. 1108 TASMG Commander Colonel Glen Flowers said, “It helps enhances the aircraft in mission readiness for all of the aviation formations throughout the Army National Guard and gets them prepared for both their state side and overseas deployed missions. Just again, as we continue to improve our facilities and keep them up to par with the other TASMGS throughout the nation.”

They will start using this facility within a few months and by July 2019 phase two will be complete with the opening of a second hangar on base.
