12/09 Ryan’s “Frozen” Friday Night Forecast

South MS will be a little frozen after tonight. We’ll see temperatures at or below freezing even in the lower three coastal counties this evening, even along the waterfront! The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson Counties until 8 AM, when all cities will be above freezing again. That’ll be the the last of the really cold nights for a while, as the wind begins to shift South Sunday afternoon, bringing warm and moist air in off of the Gulf. This will help temperatures reach the low 70s by Monday, when another front is set to move through the area. This one won’t fully “pass,” but will stall out overhead, causing a few days of scattered showers, cloudy skies, and warmer temps to start off next week.
