11/29 Ryan’s “Severe Weather” Tuesday Night Forecast

After months with almost no significant rainfall, we’ll see some potentially severe storms move in overnight. Isolated showers will continue to increase in frequency across the area from now (11:00 PM) until the main storm line moves in a few hours before sunrise. Helicity values are high right now, meaning most of the super cell storms that developed today had some rotation and several tornadoes have touched down already. As of the latest model runs, it looks like 4:30-5:00 AM will be when the strongest storms we’ll see will begin moving in from the NW, and the entire event should be finished by noon. High pressure will begin to move in almost immediately and Northerly winds will bring us cooler & drier air as we head toward the weekend. We’ll see another round of disturbed weather move in as we begin next week, so be sure to enjoy the few cool and dry days we’ll get before then.
