Long Beach School District celebrates business community with appreciation breakfast

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- The Long Beach School District organized a community business partner appreciation breakfast at the senior center to celebrate their support for local students.

The event brought together current business partners, along with others who were interested in finding ways to invest in local schools and students.

The breakfast gave business leaders an opportunity to connect, share ideas, and learn more about how they could support the district.

The first Long Beach School District Business Partner of the Month is J. Allen Automotive. Superintendent Dr. Talia Lock said, “Our community just gives so much to our students and to our district. We’re constantly asking for different things for our students, clubs, and schools. They always open their doors to us, so it was really important for our district and our students to say thank you to them. It’s a two-way relationship and partnership that we have. We want to know how we can better serve our businesses and how can we better prepare our students for the workforce? So, it was a way to have that conversation and dialogue, but at the end of the day it was a way to say thank you.”

Organizers say this event highlighted how local businesses and schools work together to help students succeed.
