08/14 Ryan’s “Sunny & Hot” Friday Morning Forecast

Expect more hot weather for the next several days as high pressure builds in.

Expect another hot day for South Mississippi today, with even hotter weather ahead for the weekend. Expect today’s high to get up to about 96° with mostly sunny skies and high humidity, getting the heat index up to 110° for several hours later this afternoon. That puts us firmly in Heat Advisory territory, and right up against Heat Warning territory today, but even hotter weather moves in for the weekend as high pressure strengthens near the coast. That’ll have temperatures in the upper 90s along the coast Saturday and Sunday, with inland areas likely hitting the triple digit mark. It’ll be beautiful, so please take any opportunity to enjoy the South Mississippi outdoors, but do so with heat and sun safety in mind. Please stay hydrated, seek shade whenever possible, and just outright avoid being outside during the hottest part of the day.
