Biloxi man sentenced to life in prison for killing neighbor after dominoes game dispute

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- A Biloxi man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of killing his neighbor during an argument over a dominoes game.

A Harrison County jury found 60-year-old Julius Taylor Jr. guilty of first-degree murder in the May 2024 shooting death of Rodney Dabney.

Prosecutors say the dispute started after Taylor accused another man of cheating him out of about $15 during a dominoes game.

After being disarmed during the argument, Taylor went back inside, grabbed a second gun, and shot Dabney in the chest.

Taylor was sentenced as a habitual offender to life in prison for murder, plus a consecutive ten years for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and is not eligible for parole.
