07/17 Ryan’s “Scorching” Friday Morning Forecast

Get ready for some scorching weather for today and the weekend ahead!

Get ready for some scorching South Mississippi afternoons as we head through today and into the weekend ahead. We’ll likely still see some spotty and short-lived shower activity each day, but we’re still trending drier than “normal” which is allowing more sun. Add to that some upper level high pressure building in overhead, and some of our hottest high temperatures of the year are coming for the next few days. Today will climb to near 97 with high humidity and partly sunny skies, but will feel more like +105° for most of the afternoon. The temperature goes up even further for the weekend, up to 99° and very likely into the low 100s by Sunday. Keep in mind that’s the temperature in the shade, so even short-term exposure to this heat in direct sunlight could be dangerous and deadly, so please practice heat and sun safety this weekend!
