The 42nd annual OLG Crab Fest returns to Bay St. Louis
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV)- The 42nd annual Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Festival is back, just ahead of America’s 250th birthday celebrations, kicking off a three-day holiday weekend tradition in Bay St. Louis.
With a variety of seafood dishes to local shopping and live entertainment, there’s no shortage of things to do.
More than 100 arts and crafts vendors, carnival rides, the Crabby 5K, and raffles are just some of the attractions planned for the event.
Proceeds from the festival help support our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and its ministries, while continuing a Coastal tradition that has lasted more than four decades. Event organizer Jimmy Osbourn said, “We started out, the first one, 42 years ago, to raise a few dollars for the school. It was successful so we kept going and we kept growing. The money we raise goes to catholic education and the needy. It feels great, especially with this being the 250th anniversary of America and our freedom. It’s always a great day in the Bay, so come out and enjoy beautiful Bay St. Louis.”
The community will be able to enjoy the festival now through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m.
