Woman charged in connection with human trafficking investigation in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) -The Gulfport Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with a human trafficking and kidnapping investigation involving a juvenile victim.

According to police, 38-year-old Krystal Leann Householder of Gulfport was arrested on Aug. 15 and charged with one count of Human Trafficking and one count of Felony Child Neglect.

Householder was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.

Investigators said the arrest resulted from new evidence uncovered through continued investigative efforts tied to a case that began earlier this year.

The investigation started after the Gulfport Police Department responded to a complaint involving a runaway juvenile, which was initiated by Child Protective Services. On Jan. 22, officers and detectives located the juvenile and determined she was safe.

The investigation at the beginning of the year led to the arrest of multiple people:

  • 40-year-old Michael Eric Moses was charged with one count of Kidnapping. Bond: $250,000
  • 49-year-old Bobby Terrell Mills was charged with one count of Human Trafficking, one count of Kidnapping, one count of Extortion, and one count of Forcible Rape. Bond: $1,600,000
  • 60-year-old Richard Sherrol Weir was charged with one count of Human Trafficking. Bond: $250,000
  • 35-year-old Marcus Alan Mann was charged with one count of Human Trafficking and one count of Kidnapping. Bond: $750,000
  • 41-year-old Jeffrey Devon Pruitt was charged with one count of Human Trafficking. Bond: $250,000
  • 27-year-old Latasha Ann Smith was charged with one count of Human Trafficking. Bond: $250,000
