HSSM hosts ‘Paw Patrol’ themed pet adoption event at Premiere Lux Cinema in Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Over the weekend, the Humane Society of South Mississippi hosted its fourth movie-themed pet adoption event at the Premiere Lux Cinema in Biloxi to celebrate the opening of ‘Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie.”

Four dogs at the event were named after ‘Paw Patrol’ characters-Chase, Marshall, Skye, and Rebel, giving movie-goers a chance to meet some potential new family members.

Adoption feeds were reduced to just $25 for the event, compared to the shelter’s regular $95 fee.

The Humane Society has 351 dogs in-house and another 297 in foster care, making it a priority to find these dogs a forever home. HSSM Field Director Quentin Denney said, “This is pretty much their first chance to get out of the shelter, their first introduction to the public, starts their initial steps into the socialization process. It’s just a big break for them, because we have over 350 animals right now under the roof of the shelter. So, that’s a lot of noise and a lot of attention being pulled in different directions. So, any chance we get to get them out of the shelter, away from that noise, and into the public. It means the world to them.”

The Humane Society also recently opened a new emergency wellness clinic, offering discounted services and emergency hours to help pet owners get care when they need it most.
