07/02 Ryan’s “Typical Summer” Thursday Morning Forecast
Expect a fairly typical South MS summer day today with more hot and humid weather and at least a few afternoon showers.
Get ready for another fairly typical summer day for South Mississippi, meaning we’re in for at least a couple of showers on an otherwise sunny, hot, and humid afternoon. We’ve already seen a couple of showers this morning with the overnight “land breeze” setup popping a few up over the water, which then drifted over Biloxi and Gulfport. As the “sea breeze” circulation sets up later today, we’ll begin seeing more and more cloud cover inland, with a few showers showing up eventually. I expect we’ll see even fewer than we had yesterday, with this drying trend continuing into the weekend. That means while a shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out for the Fourth, it won’t likely be enough to ruin anyone’s weekend festivities. It will still be dangerously hot though, so please practice heat safety by staying hydrated, dressing in light, loose-fitting clothing and avoiding direct sunlight.
