Detroit gaming company to buy Scarlet Pearl; deal still pending approval

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- A Detroit-based company has agreed to purchase the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville.

Ilitch Companies, the parent company behind Little Caesars and the Detroit Tigers baseball team, has announced an agreement to acquire the Scarlet Pearl and the Ocean Casino Resort in New Jersey.

The deal is part of the company’s new gaming division, Ilitch Gaming, and still requires regulatory approval before it can be finalized.

Scarlet Pearl operations will continue as normal during the approval process.

In a statement, Scarlet Pearl CEO LuAnn Pappas says Ilitch Gaming shares the Scarlet Pearl’s commitment to hospitality and community and that the move positions the resort for future success.
