Wiggins man competing in Hot Wheels car competition

Today is a big day for one local Wiggins man.

Bobby Arkwright is a finalist for a virtual Hot Wheels Legend Tour Stop where the winning car will compete later this year to be in a final competition for the chance to immortalize their car into an iconic Hot Wheels die cast car to be sold at Walmarts worldwide.

The 1996 Nissan Hardbody that will be competing in the competition was originally for his daughter, but she did not know how to drive a standard shift car so he decided to make into a Trolls theme car and then to a Hot Wheels car. “I have always been a Hot Wheels fan since I was little. I have about 2,000 of them at home. We had it done for my grandson Maddox, he is three years old. We did it for him to do the Hot Wheels theme.”

Arkwright says that cars have been a passion of his since he took his father’s auto body class at the Long Beach Vo-Tech Center.
