05/26 Ryan’s “Flood Issues” Tuesday Morning Forecast
The rain will continue today while backing off a little bit, but flood issues are expected across the area for the next few days.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue again today, with flood issues starting to pop up across the area. Almost every local river is at least at “action” stage, with many at “minor” flooding and at least one reaching “major” stage. If you encounter any of these areas while out and about, remember to avoid flooded roads, do not try to drive through or cross rushing water, and “turn around, don’t drown.” These issues aren’t likely to go anywhere soon as at least a 50% chance of showers is expected every day for the rest of the week, but for at least the next couple of days the totals will fall a bit. Still, while flooding doesn’t get as much “press” as tornadoes and wind, it is THE MOST deadly form of severe weather. Please travel South Mississippi cautiously for the next week or more.
