MEMA continues to work with local, state and volunteer partners on response and recovery efforts. The agency has delivered tarps to Lawrence, Lamar and Lincoln counties. Local residents are encouraged not to sightsee in affected areas as downed power lines, unstable trees, floodwaters, and emergency equipment can create dangerous conditions. MEMA also says unnecessary traffic slows emergency operations and puts both the public and responders at risk.
Residents who sustained storm damage are encouraged to:
• File insurance claims as soon as possible.
• Take photographs of all property damage.
• Report damage through MEMA’s self-reporting tool.
Individuals who need help related to the storms should contact their county emergency management agency. For more information and to see a list of county emergency management contacts, click here.
