LUCEDALE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Lucedale Police Department is alerting the public about a scam going around.

Recipients are being asked for payment for fines, warrants, missed jury duty, and court fees.

The police want to remind everyone that no government agency or police department will contact you by phone, text, or email to request information.

You are advised to hang up and never send money. Instead, call your local law enforcement agency to report the incident.
