George County Lady Rebels with big 8-1 win over Brandon!

It was a beautiful day on the diamond as the reigning 6A State Champions of George County hosted Brandon High School. The Rebels are fresh off a big 5-3 win over Hernando on Tuesday.

The scariest thing about this Friday the 13th was Addison Davis on the mound! She didn’t let a big leadoff hit get the best of her as she sat down the next three batters she faced. The Co-Lin Signee would have a flawless second inning striking out all three in a row. The Lady Rebel bats came alive in the second inning. Braylee Bishop with a single. Kyleigh Howell with a sac fly, Addisyn Chavers, a single by Aryana Dixon and a few throwing errors put GC up 3-1.  After two more Davis strikeouts, Kyleigh Howell almost gets one over the fence, but has to settle for a standing double. Addisyn Chavers would soon send her home for her second hit of the day making it 6-1.

The Lady Rebels would score two more after the third inning and take down the Brandon Bulldogs 8-1. Addison Davis pitched the complete game recording 12 strikeouts and allowing only one hit. This would be her second one hitter in this very early season.

To no surprise, George County is good at softball yet again! They’ll now face St. Martin on Monday.
