Moss Point PD hosts ‘A Chat with the Chief’ to bridge gap between police and community
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Moss Point Police Department hosted a ‘Chat with the Chief’ Thursday evening.
More than two dozen community members gathered at the department for a chance to share concerns and ideas with Police Chief Dennis Stevenson, who was sworn in back in January.
As Stevenson discussed, there are currently 17 officers within the department, including three part time officers though he hopes those numbers continue to grow
MPPD has also put an emphasis on increasing overall presence, reopening cold cases, and creating seminars geared towards the community’s teenagers.
Chief Stevenson believes that the event was a success for everyone involved. He also says that the department hopes to host these chats at least once a month, along with other community events.
