Sentry South 26-2 training exercise continues at local military bases

A military exercise at military installations in South Mississippi and across the state began Friday.

More than a thousand service members, including active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Forces, are participating in Sentry South 26-2.

The Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center at the airport, as well as Camp Shelby near Hattiesburg, will host some of these training exercises.

If you live near these sites, you may hear an increase in aircraft, low flying helicopters, and other noises near the bases.

Sentry South will run through March 6.
