Local students participate in Mardi Gras STEM camp

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A new STEM resource in Gulfport opened its doors for a Mardi Gras theme camp designed to inspire young minds.

Students ages six to 13 participated in hands-on engineering challenges designed to encourage creativity and real-world problem-solving at Wayfinder Community Learning Center.

The event, powered by Catalyst Learning, combined festive Mardi Gras elements with interactive STEM activities aimed at building confidence and critical thinking skills.

The camp concluded with a student showcase, where participants presented the projects they designed and built throughout the day.

The organization plans to offer additional workshops throughout the year, continuing its mission to inspire the next generation of innovators.
