George County man found guilty of sexual battery of a child

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A George County man has been found guilty of sexual battery of a child.

Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Blake Fairley has been sentenced to 30 years in custody of Mississippi Department of Corrections.

According to Assistant District Attorney Bobby Knochel, the victim was a 15-year-old girl. The jury heard testimony that Fairley engaged in sex with the victim while his wife was in the hospital with their newborn baby.

Fairley’s sentence must be served day to day without the hope of early release or parole. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
