Moss Point City Council discusses blight in community
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)-The Moss Point City Council held a meeting Tuesday to address blight in the community.
Multiple residents came out to city hall for the meeting. Properties with structures that are dilapidated or in bad in shape, like burnt homes, were up for discussion as the board determined which ones they would declare a menace to public health, safety, and the welfare of the community.
Some property owners came out to defend their property, stating that they would clean it, or wished to have it demolished.
Those who attend the meeting were given a 30-day notice to clean the property or tear the structure on it down.
This is an issue that will continue to be discussed in future city council meetings.
