01/28 Ryan’s “Warmer, but Still Frosty” Wednesday Morning Forecast

Today was warmer, but still frosty as our subtle warming trend continues for the rest of the week.

South Mississippi woke up frosty once again today, despite an over 10 degree warm-up from where we were yesterday. That still had us below freezing in every South Mississippi location, which really drives home the fact yesterday was the coldest we’ve been yet this winter. That “record” won’t last long though, because while we’re warming for the rest of the week that’s all ahead of an even sharper cold snap coming after. That means today will be warmer than yesterday as our highs climb into the mid 50s, which will be upper 50s by Friday morning. That’s when things start to change though, and I’m expecting a 20° drop in highs from Friday to Saturday, bringing highs only into the upper 30s Saturday afternoon! Mornings over the weekend will be brutal as well, with lows Sunday morning likely falling into the low to upper teens across the area.
