Secretary of State warns of bitcoin ATM scam

Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson’s office is warning of increasing bitcoin scams, specifically involving bitcoin ATMs.

A bitcoin ATM is an electronic kiosk using any financial transaction card, including a cash or debit card, but scammers are now using them as vehicles for scams.

Some good rules to follow if you’ve used one of these machines includes never withdrawing cash in response to an unexpected message, don’t make hasty decisions, and never click on links or computer pop-ups related to bitcoin.
