Apps and websites saw outages across the world

Mississippi (WXXV)- An internet outage has hit the United States this morning.

DownDetector has been flooded with spikes for many apps, those including Snapchat, Fortnite, Duolingo and many more.

The issues are said to have started around 2 AM, the problem appears to be related to an issue at Amazon Web Services.

AWS offers infrastructure that underpins much of the modern internet.

The company was seeing increased error rates and delays with services.

Amazon Web Services says they are observing early signs of recovery on some impacted services, requests may continue to fail as a full resolution is worked towards.
