Save our Sound group aims to protect our natural resources

Every time the southern end of the Mississippi River hits flood stage, the Army Corp of Engineers decides whether or not to open the Bonnet Carre Spillway up river from New Orleans.

The result is tons of polluted water dumped into the Mississippi Sound, threatening the environment, our seafood industry, and tourism.

Save our Sound is a group of concerned leaders on the Coast. This week they proposed landmark federal legislation to protect natural resources.
